This license is issued free of charge and covers usage of the "free software" version of a product, downloadable free of charge. These versions are virtually identical to the full versions but with notices to the effect that they may only be distributed with free software in the version and copyright information.

As long as the product you are developing falls within the set, strict terms of this license you may obtain and use the product without charge. The spirit of this license allows hobbyist or academic developers to enhance their applications while not having to worry about paying for the products they use to do so.

Broadly speaking, this license requires that your application be freely downloadable and generate no revenue.

Product: <product> License Type: Free Software Redistributables: <redistributables> END-USER LICENSE AGREEMENT FOR MEDIACOM SOFTWARE --------------------------------------------------- IMPORTANT - This license ("EULA") is a legal agreement between you (an individual software developer) and MediaCom, its owners and contributors ("MEDIACOM") for the software product accompanying this EULA. The software product includes any associated media, documentation, source code, binaries and redistributables ("SOFTWARE"). By installing, copying or possessing this product you agree to be bound by the terms of this EULA. If you do not agree to any of the terms in this license document you must destroy all copies of the SOFTWARE in your possession. The SOFTWARE is not sold, it is licensed. One license is required for every developer using the SOFTWARE on one computer at a time. The SOFTWARE is runtime royalty-free. MEDIACOM hereby grants to you a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable (except for a material breach of this EULA as set forth below), royalty-free license to use the SOFTWARE and distribute the redistributable portions of the SOFTWARE as combined with your products in accordance with this EULA. You may also grant your customers the right to use your products that contain the SOFTWARE. The SOFTWARE is proprietary to MEDIACOM and ownership and copyright of the product is retained. Use of the product by anyone not covered by this license results in the immediate termination of the license along with your right to use the SOFTWARE, without notice. Such termination will not revoke your right to distribute or license any of your software products that contain the SOFTWARE in accordance with this EULA and that were created prior to the violation of this EULA, but will mean that you cannot rebuild or distribute new products that contain the SOFTWARE. Neither the name of the copyright holder(s) nor the names of any contributors may be used to endorse or promote products derived from or using this software without specific prior written permission. Also MEDIACOM will not be held responsible for support requests for products developed using the SOFTWARE. RESTRICTIONS ------------ 1. You agree not to compete with MEDIACOM by rebranding, repackaging, renaming or otherwise directly extending the SOFTWARE. Applications developed using the SOFTWARE must not be used for a similar purpose as the SOFTWARE itself. The SOFTWARE must only be used to add value to existing applications. 2. This license is not transferable and you may not sell, rent, sub-license or otherwise make available this license to any third party without prior written consent from MEDIACOM. In the case where consent is given, the third party must agree to abide by the terms of this license agreement. You may assign this license to a third party acquiring all or substantially all of your business if the third party agrees to abide by the terms of this EULA. In this situation MEDIACOM must be notified but consent does not have to be sought. 3. The only distributable portions of the SOFTWARE are those files marked redistributable at the top of this document. No other portion of the software may be distributed except for storage purposes. When stored the SOFTWARE must be stored as a whole, with all associated files and media. The exception to this is when you are distributing applications with source code. In this instance this license must accompany the redistributables listed above. 4. You agree not to modify, decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer or otherwise deface any part of the SOFTWARE. 5. You agree to display the following text in the About dialog of your application. If your application does not have an About dialog the text must be displayed prominently elsewhere. No revenue of any kind may be generated with an application built using the SOFTWARE - this includes revenue generated from advertising, but excludes voluntary donations. A grace period of 30 days is allowed for initial closed development of your application using the SOFTWARE before the application must become publicly downloadable in some form. After this period has elapsed there is no obligation to release your software publicly if a decision is made to cease using the SOFTWARE.
